Jeremiah Whitley
Will Be Sadly Missed - Army

Whitley - Jeremiah "Mike” Michael Whitley passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. Mike served in the United States Army honorably for 20 years and served multiple deployments that included Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan as a military police officer. Mike was assigned to work with Special Forces Command in over 23 countries. Mike also served his community for 13 years as a Nassau County Correctional Officer and Deputy Sheriff. Mike was so proud of his work as a school resource officer and Motorcycle Patrolman. Mike received many awards and medals during his service, which included the Bronze Star. He always stated that his greatest accomplishment was having 2 amazing sons; they were his world and heart. After a life of service to his country and community he was self-employed and enjoyed a simpler life spending time with his family and friends. Mike had a passion for life and never met a stranger; even a trip to the grocery store would take an hour because he always met someone he knew and cared about. Mike’s favorite things in life included traveling and seeing the world, motorcycles, great music, and food. Most importantly, he never missed a chance to see his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlos and Betty Whitley and Frances Waters.
Mike is survived by his sons, Dalton Whitley (Paige) and Tyler Whitley; granddaughters, Adeline and Georgia, parents, Steve Whitley and Dedra Kilgore (David); siblings, Mitch (Tara), Holly (Will), Josh, and Matthew, grandfather, Hubert Chapman (Lavern); and several nieces and nephews.
This tribute above was prepared by Mike’s loving family.
